Best buys on items for the month of August

NEW YORK (WABC) -- It's August 1st, so it's time for Nina Pineda's suggestions on best buys as she hits on back to school items and lots of summer items (grills, patio furniture, apparel) that will be deeply discounted.

There are tons of sales and tons of promotions going on in August and Mark LoCastro's dealhunters on www.dealnews.com have been digging through the sand for end-of-summer treasure tips.

"Grills they're red hot deals in August, you can expect to see about $200 off certain gas grills and the sales get even better towards the end of August and into September," said LoCastro.

Now's the time to get the new grill, and cooking tools that go with it, grab your beach towels, outdoor tableware and accessories in August, but hold off on patio furniture for now.

"I mean they're deals to be had on patio furniture but if you wait two weeks or even into September they get better and better. You can expect to see up to 90% off on outdoor patio furniture," he adds.

Look for even bigger savings on summer apparel, like the GAP's 60 percent off sale.

"Shorts, bathing suits even sandals you'll see some great discounts," adds LoCastro.

Dealnews found a window for deals on Jeans, between now and mid-month, save on this Back-to-School staple , but after August 15, many retailers mark the prices back up.

And don't forget to save even more by stacking coupons, look for site wide sales on websites, and "friend" your favorite store on FACEBOOK for promo codes to find even deeper discounts on already marked down summer stuff.
