Great deals on cars for buyers and sellers

Monday, November 16, 2009

Next to your home, your car is your biggest expense.

For people facing tough times, being locked in to a long term car lease can be a real burden.

But there is an on-line lease swap program that can help them get around that problem.

The website, swapalease.com, has a steady stream of cars and sports utility vehicles.

The ten thousand vehicles in its inventory have one thing in common -- the people currently driving the vehicles want to get rid of them and fast.

For buyers, it's a chance to get a great deal. More than 50 percent of the sellers offer a financial incentive.

Founded ten years ago, swapalease used to cater to the finicky car owner.

Then, it was someone who wanted to get a new vehicle before their old lease was up.

Now, due to the recession, the motives are far more serious.

For consumers in a financial pinch, swapalease has become a practical way to get out of their car lease without paying a penalty or ruining their credit with missed payments.
