Foxy Brown ordered to jail

(New York-WABC, August 16, 2007) (WABC) -- Rap star Foxy Brown has been ordered to jail by a Brooklyn judge.

It was also revealed Foxy is three months pregnant.

Brown, whose real name is Inga Marchand, was charged with smacking her longtime neighbor with her Blackberry cell phone in the Prospect Heights section of Brooklyn last month.

Foxy showed up 45 minutes late for court this morning. The judge was just minutes away from issuing an arrest warrant for the rap star.

Once inside the diva got a tongue lashing for prosecutors telling her she didn't have enough sense of leaving the jurisdiction without getting in trouble and that she no longer deserves to be on probation.

Foxy was sentenced to three years probations on assault charges dating back to 2004. In the last 10 months the prosecutors say she has violated probation with a string of arrests and attacks.

Eyewitness News' Kemberly Richardson spoke to Brown's attorney. "As to the issue of missing probation, with this probation department especially in Brooklyn if (Foxy) missed just one probation visit, they would've immediately violated her. They said she missed four probation visits and she was not reporting to anger management? I find that hard to believe," said John Sampson.

The prosecutors say the rapper's behavior is offensive at best and criminal at worst.

She was handcuffed and taken to jail where she will be until September 7th at what point there will be another hearing to decide if Brown stays behind bars or will be released.
