Children with asthma more likely to get shingles

A new study says children with asthma have a higher risk for developing shingles.

Researchers at the Mayo Clinic found children who had asthma were more than twice as likely to develop shingles than those who did not.

Shingles is painful skin condition that typically strikes older adults with weakened immune systems.

The study is considered preliminary.
