NEW YORK (WABC) -- A simple memory test using famous faces is being administered to spot the early signs of dementia.
Researchers say the inability among middle-aged people to recognize iconic faces such as Einstein, Oprah or Elvis might signal primary progressive aphasia, a form of dementia in people between 40 and 65.
Researchers at Northwestern University say 93 percent of the healthy people were able to say the name of a famous face compared to 46 percent of progressive aphasia patients.
