(Newark -WABC, May 9, 2006) (WABC) -- Two families are in mourning after a deadly drive by shooting in Newark.
The victims -- two high school students -- were gunned down as they sat on a bench.
16-year-old Kelvin Kelley was shot to death last night just feet away from his home. His best friend Hassan was also shot. He struggled to survive, but failed.
Friends and family say the two teens were not troublemakers, they were just sitting on this bench talking early this morning when a car pulled up and someone started shooting. Police say the gunmen took off.
Betty Kelley, Kelvin's mother: "He never made it to like 20, never made it to graduate out of high school, go to college, those were his goals, his dreams."
Fuquana: "I raised my brother. My mother died when he was three years old. I got custody when I turned 18. I took care of him all his life."
Police are looking for a red four-door vehicle occupied by two men.
