(Lower Manhattan-WABC, May 25, 2006) (WABC) -- The bouncer charged in a deadly club shooting Chelsea may now be linked to three other murders.
Eyewitness News reporter Ken Rosato is live in Lower Manhattan with the story.
Police say they thought they were taking Steven Sakai in for questioning, now they believe they may have in their custody, a serial killer.
The deadly Chelsea shooting Tuesday night may not be the first time bouncer Steven Sakai opened fire. Sakai is now being investigated for three other possible homicides. While being interrogated over the shooting outside the club Opus 22. Police say Sakai stunned them with his confessions of murder.
Sakai reportedly told police he killed two other bouncers last November.
One of the alleged victims is 42-year-old Irving Matos who worked at a topless bar in Sunset Park, Brooklyn.
The other is a former coworker from Opus 22, the site of Tuesday night's shootout. That victim, 41-year-old Edwin Mojica who's body was found in Williamsburg. Sakai also claims to have killed a third person in Brooklyn.
Early this morning Sakai was moved from the 10 precinct in Chelsea to Lower Manhattan where he will be arraigned later today.
Juan Cuadros, Victim's Brother: "Why? Why? This is just stupid and crazy. I don't understand this."
Meanwhile, 50 miles south of Chelsea, the Cuadros family is mourning the death of one brother and praying for the life of another. They are the victim's of Tuesday night's rampage.
Witnesses say the 30-year-old Sakai started firing a 45 caliber handgun after a drunken argument while trying to clear out the Chelsea club.
25-year-old Gustavo Cuadros of Red Bank, NJ was shot in the head and killed. His older brother Andres was one of three others wounded. Andres is in critical condition, paralyzed from a gunshot wound to the throat. A third victim is on a respirator at St. Vincent's and another is in stable condition.
Steven Sakai's arraignment in Tuesday night's shooting takes place later on today.
