Body found in Hackensack River

Monday, May 29, 2006

A body, possibly that of a woman, was spotted in the Hackensack River in Secaucus, N.J., this morning.

Authorities say the body was discovered in the river just before 10 a.m., and the Bergen County Police were sending a boat to retrieve it. Authorities believed the body was that of a woman.

When they recover the body, they will determine if it is a 23-year-old Palisades Park woman missing since May 12.

Eyewitness News has learned that woman, Diana Ham, was last seen at a bar called Legends, at 15 Route 5. A family member reported her missing the next morning. She was described as Asian, 5 feet 7 inches and 140 pounds, with brown eyes and black hair.

Authorities searched Wolf's Creek behind the Palisades Park high school, and found found several of her belongings. They searched the creek after Ham's relatives and friends said that she often walked by it to get to her home.
