(Plainsboro, NJ - WABC, November 22, 2006) (WABC) -- A 3-year-old boy in a stroller was killed and a woman pushing him across a Plainsboro, New Jersey, street was critically injured when they were struck by a car.
Police say the boy, identified as Andre Pankratov, died following the accident at the intersection of George Davison Road and Ashford Drive in Plainsboro Tuesday night.
Authorities say Pankratov was being pushed across George Davidson Road by 60-year-old Tatyana Yaroslavskaya when they were hit by a car.
The driver, 39-year-old Paul Carrola of Basing Ridge, reportedly told police he saw Yaroslavskaya with the stroller, but was unable to stop in time.
Officials say Yaroslavskaya and Pankratov were flown to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Pankratov was pronounced dead, while Yaroslavskaya was listed in critical condition.
Officials say there is no crosswalk on George Davison Road and no street lights where the accident occurred.
Plainsboro police are asking anyone with information about the accident to call Officer John Bresnen at (609) 799-2333.
