(Bed-Stuy-WABC, May 30, 2007) (WABC) -- A dispute turns ugly, then deadly. A woman is now facing murder charges. Police say she ran down her boyfriend with her SUV.
Eyewitness News reporter Lisa Colagrossi has the story.
Twenty five-year old Jeanine Harrington turned herself over to police last night. She'll face charges of second degree murder and weapons possession this morning, for allegedly running over her boyfriend with an SUV twice.
"She did it on purpose. She did it on purpose," the victim's friend, Toni Favorite said.
Forty seven-year old Jeffrey Moore was riding his bike on Rockaway Boulevard yesterday morning when he was struck and killed by the Nissan Pathfinder.
After the incident Harrington allegedly abandoned the vehicle a block away and ran to her current live-in boyfriend's house.
Distraught neighbors set up a small memorial outside the victim's home on Werfield Place. They remember Moore as a kind man who looked after his neighbors and friends.
"He always had a nice kind word...and made you feel protected, you know," said Favorite.
Neighbors told reporters that Moore thought Harrington may be pregnant with his child.
They say the incident was the end result of a domestic dispute that spiraled out of control.
