(Brooklyn - WABC, June 20, 2007) (WABC) -- Eyewitness News has learned that an off-duty female officer was sexually assaulted inside her Brooklyn home Wednesday evening.
Eyewitness News reporter Jim Dolan is in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn with the story.
Police fanned out across the neighborhood looking for clues. At least a dozen officers were on the ground looking for a weapon or clothes from the attacker.
Officers also searched from helicopters above Brooklyn.
It is not clear if the suspect knew his victim was a police officer, but he did escape.
Police have not yet released a description of the assailant.
