(Morningside Heights - WABC, September 13, 2007) (WABC) -- A woman was struck and critically injured in a crash outside St. Luke's Hospital in Morningside Heights Thursday morning.
Police say the victim, in her 60s, was hit by a white van on Amsterdam Avenue at West 114th Street just before 10 a.m.
She was reportedly taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Authorities say the white van that struck the victim, with the word "Guardian" written on the side, stopped after running down the victim.
Responding emergency workers lifted the van with their bare hands in a desperate attempt to save the victim.
No charges were immediately filed at the driver. No criminality was suspected.
