Man fatally shot outside daycare center

(South Jamaica-AP, Oct. 1, 2007) (WABC) -- A man was fatally shot in front of a daycare center in the South Jamaica section of Queens.

The man, in his 30's, was shot five times outside the day care center on 110th Avenue just before 9:50 a.m.

He was rushed to Mary Immaculate Hospital and pronounced dead.

No arrests were immediately made.

Authorities taped off the street in front of the house, and detectives were examining the front and side of the home.

They were talking to the operator of the day care center as parents rushed to pick up their children.

Witnesses tell Eyewitness News there was a man banging on the door, when two men came up and after a short argument, the victim was shot.
