Burned puppy found in New Jersey

Tuesday, October 16, 2007

People in Paterson are seeking donations to pay for a skin graft for a puppy that was found burned.

Authorities also are offering a $5,000 reward for information leading to the person who scalded the beagle with hot water or a chemical.

The frightened animal was discovered Monday near the Food Basics store.

City animal control officer John DeCando said the skin of the puppy was literally hanging off.

Burns covered the animal's back, side and some of its face.

Save the Animal Rescue Team II is seeking money to pay for a skin-grafting operation. Donors can call 201 797-8861.

For any information on the actual crime, call 973-881-3640
