Deadly triple shooting in the Bronx

Friday, October 26, 2007

A bloody barrage of gunfire in a Bronx apartment building left a man and a woman dead and a second man critically wounded.

Neighbors say loud arguments were heard on the the second floor, inside Apt. 54, at 1410 Grand Concourse, before the shots were fired just after midnight.

Eyewitness News is told 20-year-old Ludmildy Rosado and 34-year-old Daniel Newton were both shot in the head. Both were pronounced dead at the scene. A third person, a man, was also shot in the head. He was rushed to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition.

The gunman fled the scene. Authorities were using a street name to find him. It was not clear what sparked the bloodbath.

Distraught family members rushed to the scene, and one collapsed in the street in front of the apartment building. Residents said the neighborhood has its share of crime and violence.

Several dogs were recovered alive from the apartment.
