Toddler brings pot to daycare

Thursday, December 06, 2007

A toddler brought 14 bags of marijuana to his Queens day care center Wednesday, according to authorities.

Police say the 3-year-old boy toted the pot to the Myrtle Jarmon Child Care Center in Jamaica and showed it to his friends, landing his mom behind bars.

But the child hasn't quite perfected the art of sharing.

"Give me my stuff back!" the boy yelled around 1 p.m., the Daily News reported. His outburst apparently caught the attention of the teacher.

Police say the boy was found with 13 plastic bags of pot in one big bag, and another, smaller bag in his hand.

Authorities say the child's mother, 30-year-old Dionne Kearsley, was charged with endangering the welfare of a child. She will not face drug charges at this time, because investigators have not yet determined where the marijuana came from.

Kearsley, who lives in the nearby Baisley Park Houses, is the sister of 36-year-old Damon Kearsley, a reputed member of the Supreme Team drug gang that plagued the area in and around Queens in the 1980s, police sources confirmed.
