Men pose as deliverymen, push into apt.

UPPER WEST SIDE (WABC) -- Two people posing as delivery men pushed their way into an Upper West Side apartment and terrorized several people inside Friday.

Eyewitness News reporter Jeff Pegues has the latest.

Two men stormed an 11th floor apartment with three people inside. There was a grandmother, a grandchild and a babysitter.

"I came in and there were a lot of cops," one resident said.

There was a large police presence on the Upper West Side, on 79th Street between Amsterdam and Columbus, where members of the NYPD's emergency service unit searched for two suspects who pushed their way into an apartment.

It happened just as some residents left for the holidays. Police sources say the suspects forced their way into an apartment at gunpoint and tied up at least one woman.

It is not clear what the suspects were after or if they escaped with anything.

Minutes later, police searched the building. The concern was that the suspects may have taken cover inside.

"Sit tight, don't go out," one resident said police told him. "They were looking for the people."

The babysitter was still in shock as she walked out of the building, tears streaming down her face. On her way to the ambulance, she collapsed, the weight of the ordeal too much handle.

Her condition is unknown. Police have been questioning witnesses as they search for the suspects.
