A Long Island teen was arrested Tuesday in the theft of a replica "Dukes of Hazard" car.

Police say 17-year-old Jason Thompson, of Ronkonkoma, burglarized an auto shop and stole a 1969 Dodge Charger modeled after the General Lee.

Authorities say Fourth Precinct officers Chris Caminiti and Steve Bienemann responded to an alarm at M&J Auto, at 87 Ronkonkoma Avenue around 1:55 a.m. They were assisted by canine officer John Mallia and his dog Blue. Police say the dog established a track and found Thompson, hiding nearby in a dumpster.

Investigations by detectives revealed that Thompson was also responsible for a burglary at Continental Car Care, located at 654 Portion Road, on January 23 at 10:19 p.m. Police say Thompson stole the car from there.

Thompson is charged with two counts of third-degree burglary.
