Friday, March 21, 2008

A car packed with teenagers slammed into a telephone pole in Great Neck Friday morning.

Eyewitness News reporter Lisa Colagrossi has details.

A station wagon packed with young teenagers from Queens careened out of control in a scary crash in Great Neck Friday.

The 15-year-old driver of the vehicle lost control on Middle Neck Road near Breuer Avenue around 3:10 a.m. The rear of the station wagon clipped a pole, sending it spinning.

The five occupants of the car, all teens, were injured. Two girls in the car were ejected from the back seat onto the roadway.

Three of the injured, including the two girls, were rushed to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. Two others were taken to Winthrop-University Hospital in Mineola with less serious injuries.

The 15-year-old driver, from Fresh Meadows, will be charged with reckless assault and reckless endangerment.

Schools across the region are offf today for the Good Friday holiday.
