Rapper shot, killed on Brooklyn street

FORT GREENE (WABC) -- A 36-year-old rapper was fatally shot in the chest in Brooklyn Tuesday.

Authorities say the shooting happened just before 5 p.m. near the intersection of Clinton Avenue and Fulton Street in the Fort Greene section.

The victim, identified as Val Lyde, also known as Kevlar, was taken to Brooklyn Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

There have been no arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
