Friday, June 13, 2008

The New York City Department of Buildings condemned an apartment building in East Harlem Friday.

The New York City Department of Buildings condemned an apartment building in East Harlem Friday, forcing about a dozen families from their homes.

About 30 apartments were evacuated inside the building on 2nd Avenue and 120th Street.

The buildings department says partitions in the basement were removed, causing the floor to sag and potentially collapse.

The Red Cross was called in to help residents.
