Teen shot and killed on Lower East Side

  

LOWER EAST SIDE (WABC) -- A 17-year-old was fatally shot outside an apartment complex on the Lower East Side this morning.

Police say the teen's body was found outside 205 Eldridge Street just after 2 a.m. He had been shot once in the head.

He was pronounced dead at Bellevue Hospital. No one was witnessed fleeing from the scene and authorities did not make any arrests.

The motive for the shooting was not immediately known. The shooting scene was a block south of busy East Houston Street.
