Spitzer girl comments on MySpace page

NEW YORK (WABC) -- For the first time, the call girl linked to disgraced former Governor Eliot Spitzer is publicly commenting on the sex scandal that forced Spitzer from office.

The now 23-year-old Ashley Dupre faced an onslaught of scrutiny after news of her relationship with Spitzer broke last March. She spoke out in a post on her MySpace page.

"Thank you all so much for taking the time to send me a bit of strength and inspiration via e-mail or comment," she wrote. "Your words have touched me, and I thank you for that...with all my heart, I love you guys!!! :)"

She also fired back at her critics, writing, "To all the not-so-kind words, I love you too, because it makes me push myself and want it even more."

"I have not had the time to be on MySpace that much," she wrote. "BUT I have been trying to get on here to approve pending friend requests and catch up on e-mails and comments. Sorry it is taking me so long!!"
