Four people shot in Harlem gunfire

Four people were shot when a group walked up to a Harlem and opened fire.

Police say the gunfire erupted outside 41 West 129th Street at around 12:40 a.m. this morning.

The suspects, a group of four people, approached the victims, who were in front of the building -- and opened fire.

Eyewitness News is told three men and a woman were hit. The most seriously injured man was rushed to St. Luke's Hospital in critical condition. Two other men and a woman were taken to Harlem Hospital with less serious injuries.

The suspects, described as four men, fled on foot. It was believed there was more than one gunman.

It was not immediately clear what sparked the shooting.
