Bandit targets elderly women

The NYPD is asking for help catching a thief targeting elderly women.

Investigators have released surveillance photos of a person wanted for questioning in regards to two robberies.

The person in the photos was using a credit card belong to one of the victims.

The first attack happened at 11:25 Saturday morning. An 81-year-old woman was walking near Edison Street and Midland Avenue when the suspect ran up behind her, pushed her and took her pocketbook.

Then on Monday at approximately 5:00 p.m., an 80-year-old woman was walking in the near 134 Reno Avenue when the suspect pushed her to the ground and took her pocketbook.

Anyone with information on either of the above incidents or who can identify the woman using the victim's credit card is asked to call the NYPD CrimeStoppers hotline at 800-577-TIPS. You can also text tips to 274637, then enter tip577.
