Man chased onto street and killed

Police are searching for a driver that chased a man into oncoming traffic.

Police say a Long Island man running from a truck that was chasing him has been hit and killed by another driver, who was high on drugs.

Suffolk County police say it's not clear who was following 42-year-old Timothy Broderick - or why - ar ound 3 a.m. Saturday in Huntington Station. Trying to get away from the pursuing pickup truck, he ran out on busy Route 25.

Police say a 19-year-old driver in a passing car wasn't able to stop in time to avoid hitting Broderick, who died at the scene. The pickup fled.

The driver who hit Broderick, identified as Christopher Martinez, has been arrested on charges of driving while ability impaired by drugs.
