WOODHAVEN (WABC) -- A bizarre incident in Queens has police looking for a woman and a hit-and-run driver who are believed to have killed a livery driver.
Police compared notes at the scene of a bizarre hit and run that left 56-year-old Winston Frank dead.
Detectives say Frank, a livery cab driver, had a female customer in the front seat. She apparently began arguing with him, then began hitting him until she shoved him out of his 2003 white Lincoln and into the middle of the street in Woodhaven on Tuesday night.
Frank, was still partially still clinging to the car by his seatbelt, until the livery cab crashed into several parked cars. The woman reportedly left Frank there as she hopped into his driver's seat and fled the scene.
Eyewitness News is told Frank was then struck by another car, that truck sped off too, leaving Frank to die in the intersection of 95th Avenue and 76th Street. He was taken to Jamaica Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The victim's heartbroken wife remembered her last conversation with Frank, he had just purchased a lottery ticket.
"I didn't hear anything from him again. He was good man, he was," his wife told Eyewitness News while crying.
Frank's car was discovered abandoned several blocks away on 87th Street and 101st Avenue in Ozone Park, where the woman finally pulled over and then ran off.
One witness told Eyewitness News, "Two guys came up to the car, one on a bicycle and one walking, and opened up the passenger side door...reached in, fiddled around a little bit, came out with a black box and then they walked down the street.
So, police are looking for more than one person -- they are looking for the female passenger in Frank's car and the driver of the hit and run vehicle.
