Sketch released in Brooklyn rape

A woman was attacked on her way to work in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn.

According to police, the 39-year-old victim was surprised by a man near her apartment building along Fort Hamilton Parkway around 8:40 a.m.

He struck the victim over the head with a screwdriver and raped her in an alley, investigators said.

The victim did not know her attacker, police said. She was taken to a nearby hospital where she was treated and released

The suspect is described as a white man in his 30's or 40's, approximately 5'8"-6'0" tall, 180 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes.

He was also described as wearing a white collared striped shirt with blue jeans and white sneakers.
