Police release surveillance video of rapist

BROOKLYN (WABC) -- Police are searching for a man who allegedly raped a woman in Brooklyn.

Authorities say the man raped the 39-year-old woman Wednesday morning near Fort Hamilton Parkway in Bay Ridge.

The suspect is described as a white male, 30 to 40 years old, standing 5-foot-8 and weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a white collared stripped shirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.

The suspect fled the scene, and the victim was transported to an area hospital where she was treated and released.

A $12,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the suspect in this case.
