FDNY: 1 dead in suspicious Queens fire

Sunday, November 09, 2008

A person was found dead in a blazing Queens apartment Sunday.

Authorities say 76-year-old Marvin Lipshonsky died in the blaze, which broke out just after midnight. He was found in a second-floor bedroom at 46-29 190th Street in Fresh Meadows.

The Fire Department says the cause of the fire is believed to be suspicious, and it's not known whether the person was dead before the fire started.

Fire officials are investigating the fire, which was confined to the one apartment.

It took 60 firefighters less than an hour to get the fire under control.
