Dog found after chasing burglar

Wednesday, December 17, 2008

A dog that apparently chased a burglar out of a home in suburban New York City was missing for most of the day.

Police in Clarkstown, Rockland County had been looking for the black pit bull mix named Kola.

Kola's owner says the dog appeared to chase the burglar away Tuesday before anything was stolen from the home in the hamlet New City, about 35 miles north of midtown Manhattan.

Police told Eyewitness News that the dog was found tied to a pole at a Costco in New Jersey.

The dog was turned in to the Franklin Lakes animal hospital, where the owner identified it as Kola.
