Two buses collide in Lincoln Tunnel

Monday, December 29, 2008

Two NJ Transit buses collided in the Lincoln Tunnel this morning -- injuring more than a dozen passengers.

The Manhattan-bound buses collided inside the tunnel, closer to the New York State side, shortly after 9 a.m. this morning.

One bus, on the Number 113 line from Dunellen, was rear ended inside the tunnel.

The other bus was on the Number 160 line from Hackensack.

The driver on the rear bus will be taken to the hospital, as well as at least 13 passengers.

All are being treated for non-life threatening injuries, mainly neck and back.

The rest of the passengers, as many as 10 others, are expected to be treated at the scene.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
