Body found in Brooklyn park

The body of a man was found in a rubbish fire in a park in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn this morning.

Eyewitness News is told the victim, in his 60s and possibly homeless, was discovered after firefighters put out a small fire in Owl's Head Park just after 4:30 a.m.

The person was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Medical Examiner's Office will determine the cause of death.

The 27.1 acre park is in the northwestern section of Bay Ridge. It is home to the only skate park in Brooklyn.
