New York (WABC) -- Dominicans in New York City celebrated their heritage Sunday in the Dominican Day Parade.
Dominicans proudly displayed their culture down 6th Avenue from 36th Street to 59th Street.
The first Dominican Day parade took place in 1982 as a small festival in Washington Heights.
Now, nearly half a million people enjoyed the cultural celebration.
