Firefighters injured in accident

EAST NEW YORK (WABC) -- Several firefighters have been injured in a major collision between two rigs.

They were racing to a call in East New York on Hegeman Avenue just before 10:00 a.m.

One of the firefighters was trapped for nearly two hours. He was taken to the hospital in serious condition.

According to the fire department, at least 10 firefighters were being treated at the scene.

The severity of their injuries was not immediately unknown.
