3 people shot, 1 fatally, in Brooklyn

WINGATE (WABC) -- Three people were shot -- one fatally -- when gunfire erupted in the Wingate section of Brooklyn.

Newscopter-7 was live over the scene.

The gunfire apparently broke out outside the De Islandz Spot on Clarkson Avenue just before 4:30 a.m.

Three people were shot and the suspect fled the scene.

An 18-year-old man was reportedly shot in the neck and is in stable condition at the hospital.

And a third person, a 26-year-old woman, walked into the hospital shot in the right arm.

Police closed several streets in the area, including at the intersection of East 51st Street and Clarkson Avenue, searching for evidence.

They are responding to a nearby apartment building, where they took down a door.

Police are searching in a building immediately to the right of 310 East 51 Street.
