Fatal police-involved shooting in Brooklyn

Monday, November 16, 2009

Police responding to a wild barfight in Brooklyn shot one man dead and wounded a second man.

According to police, patrons were firing guns and hitting each other with barstools when officers arrived at the Norwood Palace bar in the East New York section shortly after 3 a.m. Sunday.

The officers fired at a 19-year-old armed man, identified as Donovan Wilson, in the doorway of the club. They also fired at 43-year-old Kevin White as he fired shots inside.

Police say White was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Wilson was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.

Three guns were recovered from the scene.

There were no immediate arrests.
