Eleven charged in Brooklyn drug bust

Eleven people have been charged with selling crack cocaine and other drugs in the streets of Clinton Hill, Brooklyn, as well as at several business, including a barbershop and two T-shirt shops.

Police say 75 grams of crack, two pounds of marijuana and several guns were recovered during the probe.

The investigation was prompted by community complaints to authorities.

District Attorney Charles Hynes announces the indictments Tuesday. He says the suspects were selling drugs in public view on the streets, in a residential apartment building and out of the local businesses.

The operation. dubbed "Grand Slam," was the result of local complaints in the neighborhood, which led the District Attorney's Office and the NYPD to conduct a joint investigation involving undercover officers making buys.
