Amtrak service between NY and Philly restored

Sunday, March 14, 2010

Amtrak's Northeast Corridor service has resumed between New York City and Philadelphia, with two of the four available tracks now in operation.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m. Saturday, commercial power lines fell onto a section of the overhead catenary wires just West of New York, which affected the signal and switching systems in the area.

Service was restored shortly after midnight, but delays are still possible.

Service between Boston and New York is not affected at this time.

Passengers are encouraged to call 800-USA-RAIL or visit Amtrak.com for schedule information and train status updates.
