Man arrested for driving drunk with baby in car

WESTBURY, N.Y. (WABC) -- A Long Island man was arrested for driving drunk with his 1-year-old daughter in the car.

It happened at 12:06 a.m. Sunday on Old Country Road in Westbury.

Police say 21-year-old Juan Cruz was driving his 2007 Honda Civic without his daughter secured in a child safety seat.

The baby was left in the care of her mother who was also a passenger in the vehicle.

Cruz is charged with Aggravated Driving While Intoxicated, Child Under 15 years old, under the Leandra Law, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, Driving While Intoxicated and additional Vehicle and Traffic Law charges.
