Funeral held for firefighter who died responding to fire

Monday, May 23, 2011

A community on Long Island laid one of its bravest to rest Monday.

A funeral service for Baldwin volunteer firefighter Michael Esposito was held at St. Christopher's Church.

The 43-year-old Esposito suffered a massive heart attack on his way to a house fire last week.

By the time his fellow firefighters got the fire out, Esposito had died at the hospital.

Esposito spent half his life volunteering to help others in need. He was a three-time former captain and a member of the department's racing team.
