Manhasset jewelry store robbed

MANHASSET, N.Y. (WABC) -- Six armed suspects robbed a jewelry store in Manhasset Friday afternoon.

The suspects were all armed with handguns and all wearing jumpsuits.

They stormed into the London Jewelers at the Americana Manhasset Mall at 1:50 p.m. and robbed the place, before fleeing in a black escalade.

They led police on a chase west on the LIE, ramming a police car in the process.

They then ditched the car in the Lake Success area, before running off in every direction.

At this point four suspects are custody and two others on the run.

An extensive search is happening on both sides of the city line.
