PORT JEFFERSON STATION, N.Y. (WABC) -- A puppy who's only ever known life in a war zone is getting a new home thanks to a Long Island charity.
The "Guardians of Rescue" flew the pup, named "Trigger", from Afghanistan to JFK.
After Trigger was born last September 11th, he was taken under the wing of some American soldiers.
Insurgents recently captured Trigger's sister and killed her.
So, the Guardians got Trigger out of danger.
He's on his way to Washington State to be reunited with the soldier who's adopted him.
