LIRR train hits person on tracks at intersection

BAYPORT, New York (WABC) -- A eastbound LIRR train fatally struck a person in Bayport this morning.

The train hit a person on the tracks at the Bayport Avenue intersection at 9:15 a.m.

The 8:52 a.m. train from Babylon was due in Montauk at 10:52 a.m.

LIRR officials will bus passengers on the train to their destination.
