Investigation into possible murder suicide

SAINT JAMES, N.Y. (WABC) -- Police in Suffolk County are investigating a possible murder suicide.

23-year-old Katherine Farrell was found stabbed to death at her parent's home in Saint James Monday morning.

Police believe she was killed by her ex-boyfriend James Schultz who later killed himself.

Schultz apparently picked up his 13-month-old son from Farrell, who is the boy's mother, brought him to his East Northport home, and then shot himself.

Police found the toddler in another room.
