Cops: Prostitute used hot dog cart to solicit clients

Friday, May 04, 2012

A Long Island woman is under arrest Friday, accused of using a hot dog truck to solicit clients for sexual conduct.

Police say 45-year-old Catherina Scalia, of East Rockaway, offered to engage in sexual conduct at her home with an undercover detective in return for money around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

According to authorities, Scalia's arrest resulted from an investigation after detectives became aware that she was using a hot dog vending truck located on Sunrise Highway in Baldwin to solicit customers. She allegedly informed customers to respond to her home, where she would perform assorted sex acts for cash.

Scalia is being charged with prostitution.
