A Long Island man is accused of burglary and calling the victim offering to return the stolen goods.
LONG ISLAND (WABC) -- Police say a Long Island man accused of burglary, called his victim offering to return the items.
Police arrested 49-year-old Peter Noto of Deer Park and charged him with two counts of burglary.
Noto allegedly broke in to an apartment in Long Beach on May 8th, and when confronted by a female resident, he fled.
He allegedly returned to the apartment later and took assorted jewelry and prescription pills.
According to police Noto was arrested in Freeport, after trying to contact the victim to return the items.
Noto is set to be arraigned later Wednesday.
