EAST MEADOW, L.I. (WABC) -- Police on Long Island are searching for vandals responsible for setting a car on fire and slashing the tires of nearly 30 vehicles.
Around 5 a.m. Saturday morning, an East Meadow resident witnessed someone cutting the tires on her van.
Police say the man fled on foot northbound on Morris Drive.
Officers responding to the scene found a car on fire at another home.
After searching the area, police found 27 vehicles with slashed tires.
The search is still on for a suspect.
