YAPHANK, N.Y. -- Police have identified the man whose body was discovered hidden in the trash at a recycling center on Long Island.
Suffolk County Police say the man discovered early Thursday was 42-year-old Joseph Chancellor of Rocky Point.
Police were called to Eastern Resources Recycling in Yaphank after staffers found his body in the trash. The body was concealed in trash that had just been left at the center by a garbage truck.
The Medical Examiner's Office will perform an autopsy. Police are investigating.
