SOUTH HEMPSTEAD, New York (WABC) -- Police say two armed men entered a Long Island home through an unlocked door and robbed its 69-year-old owner of jewelry, cash and electronics.
Nassau County police say the home invasion occurred in South Hempstead just after midnight on Thursday.
The thieves walked through the front door and demanded money from the owner. They then went around the house removing items including cellphones.
A family member who arrived home a short time later called police.
The suspects fled in a car.
Anyone with information was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800 244-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
